| - I was pleasantly surprised last night when we had a hankering for Indian, but didn't feel like driving across town to our normal spot. We decided to give Taj another try from the first time last year when we'd just moved to the Vegas area, we sampled the buffet and was not super impressed. Last night our general regard for Taj was won over.
We arrived around 6:30 on a Thursday night and were promptly seated in a large booth. First, I noticed the Indian decor, lots of gold and jeweled tones, elephants and tree of life, glass lanterns overhead, very nice ambiance. Bollywood videos play on the tv over by the bar (beer and wine), which is always fun and entertaining to watch.
We ordered veggie samosas (the best I've ever had, curried potatoes inside were delicious!), tandoori chicken (it looked dry I thought, but my hubby said it was juicy and delicious), chicken tikka masala (very good, more cinnamon or something than I've had before, but still excellent), chicken vindaloo (my hubby said it was good, but he wished he'd gotten it a little more mild, he asked for a medium to hot), garlic naan (nirvana), rice, and a green salad (simple with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions). We stuffed our faces and waddled out happily. I'll definitely go back to Taj now, the dinner is much better than the buffet, as is with most buffets, yes?
