| - Let me start by saying I wish I was giving a 5 star review and I certainly expected to be giving one.
My daughter and I both got more treatments than any spoiled brats should. Let me give you the rundown.
The spa is large, nice and clean, though not really opulent. The attendants are all pleasant and you're provided with fruit and a variety of beverages.
My daughter's experience first.
COCONUT SURRENDER MASSAGE- massage was decent.
SUGAR BODY SCRUB- "it was ok, but smelled amazing".
LIP TREATMENT- rubbed a few lotions on her lips. No exfoliation, no discernible difference, felt like a waste.
BRIGHTENING FACIAL therapist was really sweet. Facial results could have been "brighter"
EYE TREATMENT was ok.
RESTORATIVE HAIR TREATMENT was GREAT and so was the person who did it.
My experience
I also had the COCONUT BLAH BLAH MASSAGE. My masseuse was very nice, but he talked non-stop for 80 minutes, once forgetting to rub because he was so engrossed in what he was saying, as we perused such subjects as politics, family and philosophy. He was really nice, but i was looking forward to a great massage and I would call it only ok, at BEST. He only asked me about the pressure once. It was meh.
(Let me just say, I'm an average Joe, so it should be easy enough to impress me and I was far from impressed.)
SUGAR BODY SCRUB. It was whatever. The therapist was very nice, though.
MINI FACIAL- There's nothing to say about this. They rubbed a few lotionish things on and wiped em off.
I also had a SERIOUSLY expensive FILL AND GEL POLISH. Here's why I'm particularly dismayed. I had the sweetest most adorable girl work on my nails. They looked really nice... For almost TWO days. I have a broken nail and a chipped nail already. I usually pay $40 for my fill and it's never broken so fast. (See pic)
I had to leave and I wasn't able to have them fix it so I'm leaving deeply dissatisfied.
The massage and scrub left me so wanting, the next day we went to a different spa and got an unexpectedly PHENOMENAL massage and scrub! (To the tune of an additional $450, but well worth it)
I'm disappointed, we were guests in the hotel, but we could have gone anywhere and if we were to stay again, I most definitely would go someplace else.
A sidenote, I noticed someone else say they were offered a $100 voucher because they were guests, I don't believe we were extended the same courtesy.
Updated to add that I spoke to the manager and she was very concerned and helpful. I definitely feel my concerns were generously addressed and I'm willing to give them a second try next time I'm in town.
