I went in last week to fill up my tank and neither of my cards worked so I had to go inside. The young man behind the counter said the card readers hardly ever work because of the dust from the road construction. He said he would help me inside though. I told him I wanted to just fill it up and he said "No problem. If you would like a receipt when you are done just come back and I will be happy to print it for you." (I wish I could remember his name. Darrin? I think there was a 'D' in his name. Sorry.)
I returned today and again the card readers did not work so I went inside. I told MARLI that I desired to fill up the tank. She said I had to have an exact amount to be charged. MARLI said she could not just open up the pump. I told her I did that last week and she said she has never done that in all the time she had been there.
Or this means either MARLI does not know how to do her job or MARLI does not want to do her job. I suspect she just did not want to open the pump for $100 and enter in the proper total later as Yelper RALPH W. suggested in an earlier review. Either way, who is to blame? MARLI? Maybe. Perhaps she was not trained properly. Her MANAGER? Maybe. Either the MANAGER did not train her properly or at all. Maybe the MANAGER does not know MARLI is doing )or not doing) this at all. Either way, this customer left the store without making a sale. MARLI did not seem to have a care in the world that she lost a sale for her MANAGER and her employer. Will her MANAGER or employer ever see this or ever do anything about it? Probably not. One could hope though.
It is true they have gas that is about $.10 cheaper than other stations nearby. It is also true they charge $.35 for using a debit card. (The young man told me last week they do not take credit cards.) So let's do the math... 10 gallons at a savings of $.10 per is a savings of $1 them minus $.35 for a net savings of $.65 in exchange for the privilege of dealing with MARLI.
No thanks. I will go to MAVERIK right up the road from now on.
