  • Usually, I'm not really a fan of dealing with contractors/handymen/trades people.. but Dan came out to my house today to fix the hole in my bathroom ceiling I attempted to do myself and I'm just so happy with the results. He called last night as a courtesy to confirm/remind me of his appointment. Today, he arrived on time, if not a couple minutes early and got to work immediately. I do like to watch when people are working to see what they're doing and get a better understanding of how I'd be able to update/replicate anything if possible but I usually don't even ask because a lot of people don't like you watching them. Not the case with Dan, he actually invited me to watch him to see how it's done! In addition to repairing the drywall in my bathroom, he also fixed two small issues with my light/fan switches while the drywall mud was drying and explained everything to me. I also asked if he and the company would be able to extend my block wall and he said that they could, but it would be cheaper to have a masonry company do that one and I appreciate that kind of honesty. Dan even said there would be no problem if I did any demolition work myself and that I could even work along-side them on a future project, which is just really awesome since I do like to do a lot of my own repairs/projects but have limited skills/abilities. The prices for their services are very reasonable, turnaround is great (I e-mailed them Wednesday July 29, they responded almost immediately but I didn't respond until the 30th, got a quote and put on the schedule the 30th and Dan came out on Wednesday the 5th, so exactly 1 week between my initial quote and the completion of the project) and they are so detail oriented in every aspect. I shot out an e-mail for a quote and Karri not only provided one from pictures, but took the time to let me know exactly how their company works. I like that nothing is concealed and that they really care about the quality of work and employees they hire. I look forward to utilizing Dan and Handyman Matters in the future for some of the larger projects I am half-heartedly planning.
