| - My husband and I were married at Gainey Ranch Golf Club on New Year's Day 2016! Since having a wedding on a holiday isn't complicated enough, we also decided on this date just 7 weeks prior to the actual event AND we live in the Midwest. Prior to our wedding, I had never even visited Arizona. Bride-to-be's out there are likely cringing at the thought of this, but the entire occasion was spectacular - thanks in large part to Christina Ayers! She is the Private Event Coordinator at Gainey Ranch Golf Club, and she totally rocks. With not a moment to lose, she sprung to action, having us complete questionnaires, select a menu, discuss preferred vendors, and review wedding locations on the course. Since we had a smaller wedding with 60 attendees, we chose the area by the waterfall. It could not have been a more stunning setting. The stairway entrance that led to a small aisle displayed in red and burgundy rose pedals was whimsically romantic - especially since the love of my life stood at the other end with a waterfall as his backdrop; truly breathtaking! The course itself offered more than enough scenery for picturesque wedding portraits that are more like a work of art with a perfectly laid sunset as our lighting, and Christina delivered us our favorite cocktails and appetizers while our pictures were being taken! The small ballroom and cocktail space was the perfect space for our group, and the décor was simply elegant. We hadn't realized until we arrived that we would get to use the back deck area as well, which was perfect for my husband and his buddies to enjoy their cigars in celebration. I don't know the chef's name, but he deserves an award - or a raise! The food was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD! Most of our guests ordered filets, and they did not disappoint even the most particular taste buds. Everyone raved at our sophisticated wedding that was completely planned in 7 weeks, and while we absolutely took the credit - it was absolutely misdirected; our wedding was just perfect because of this venue, the excellent staff, and the hard work of Christina as well as her colleagues. Thank you very much!
All the Best from the Midwest,
Dana & Erin Wikstrom
