This location is now named Dutch Miller Kia. This review is for the sales department of Dutch Miller Kia:
I bought a new car here in 2013. I got a terrible deal but my car was not working so I took what I was able to get. Fast forward to the present I take my car back to dealership every 5K miles for the necessary maintenance. On today's visit I took them up on the offer to see what I could get for a trade.
I spent 3hrs in the morning going on various options to end up with no quote. At that point my car was ready and I had to go back to work. They offered to let me test drive the car I liked for the day and I would come back after work to talk price. I came back with my fiance (this shouldn't matter but unfortunately it did) after work to talk numbers. From the beginning conversation I had at the service office, I told them my max price point.
About 30mins into the visit with my fiance we had a quote....that was $100/month over my price point. I wanted to leave at that point but I was told the service office had closed and I wouldn't be able to get my vehicle until THE NEXT DAY and my only option was to try to get to a better price point on a new car. My fiance and I both have multiple degrees and work in the financial industry so we new that was clearly illegal but I was intrigued to see how low and deceptive this place was willing to go.
After 2 more hours we were told that the monthly payment had gone down by a whopping $101 to my price point. At this point I ask to see the paperwork and am ignored. My fiance threatens to leave and blank papers appear with nothing except my name and the wrong vehicle. No price, no APR, no nothing of importance. After another 30mins I tell them they need to figure out what to do about the service fee but I am going home in my car. Magically the finance guy shows up with corrected paperwork with a price $11/month over what was agreed to. He then says, "Its just $10/month what's the big deal?" At that point I inform him its not just $10 a month its that times 72 times the time value of money and the 6hrs I've been there.
I was flat out lied to and they attempted to bamboozle me. This is the reason for agencies like the CFPB because this type of deceptive practice is unacceptable and I will report this dealership to any and every place possible.
