This is my first experience at this hospital and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. I have a 2.5 lb chihuahua. He was lethargic and had loss of balance, so quickly I looked around for a place open past 6pm. This hospital popped up not far from my house. I called and was able to take him right in. Because of his weight I can't wait to long to make decisions on his health since he's almost died twice from an allergic reaction to a rabies shot and hypoglycemic shock 8 hours after purchasing him from a pet store.
The receptionist was great. They took him right in to start an IV. The doc came out and said they had to keep him overnight because of his size and his temp being below normal. They were going to do blood tests for sugar level and I explained he had to have eaten something. He was fine at 430 but when I got home at 530 he looked tired and then symptoms progressed . This is a dog that eats q-tips and rubberbands and he's fine. He eats about anything, so that was my only logical reason to his behavior is that he inhaled a non food object in his roomba cleaning spree while we were out.
They assure me he is in good hands and I leave. The next day I call and they said he's fine now. I go to pick him up and have the doctor tell me I would know better what he ate before they would. I'm assuming if you are keeping my dog you are going to do an X-ray, toxicology blood or something to see if he ingested anything. Nope nothing, so I paid $380 to be told you have no clue. A little frustrating but ok, he's fine and that's all I want. I check out and one of the girls upfront is making a small scene about a couple in front of me that didn't understand what she asked. Unprofessional but she's young. I check out ( they do take the $44 off for first time customers) and now I'm waiting for my pup.
I get his medicine for the runs he developed in here but no dog. The receptionist earlier tries to ring me up again and when I tell her I already was she proceeds to say she asked me that which she didn't. Same thing she did to the couple in front of me. Finally I get my dog. He's happy and playful looks good. Later that night I notice red spotting with a green background like a bruise on his right side of his neck. I called the vet back and was told it's where they drew blood. However, he had an IV in his paw so why didn't they take it from there? I don't know why they drew blood from his neck, but now he has a red splotch at least 1" long and wide on his neck which is like 2 inches wide.
So while my pup came out OK from this, the people, cost and lack of diagnosis have me giving this place 3 stars. I won't be taking him back here.
