| - I've never had much reason to see a Podiatrist before, so I didn't even know where to begin when my ingrown nail was causing me severe and persistent pain for almost a month. I'd found Dr. Allen through Yelp, actually, and reached out to the office through their website. I had received a prompt and professional response the very same day, informing me they've received my information and would contact me to schedule an appointment... And they really did!! I know, kind of pathetic to be excited about something that should be common practice for businesses that receive information requests, but I find it rare to receive the acknowledgement and follow through that is expected. My appointment was earlier today. The office was nice, clean, and comfortable. The doctor and his medical assistant were thorough and informed me of my available options. I opted for the partial matrixectomy on my left toe (local anesthetic, incision made, ingrown nail removed, and application of chemical to prevent future ingrown nail development in same area). My right toe was not as inflamed, so I had requested simply the wedge resection (no anesthesia necessary, quick and painless - possibility of ingrown redeveloping). Dr. Allen is friendly, caring, and highly skilled in his field. He and his medical assistant explained procedures, treatment, and post-procedure care in great detail. I didn't feel pressured into anything with which I wasn't fully comfortable. I was given all the information and the decision was 100% up to me. During the procedure the three of us conversed and the focus was kept off of my toe. I didn't feel a thing or even pay attention to the surgery that was taking place. I was done and on my way in no time. I'd certainly refer friends, family, or anyone in need of Podiatric services, to Dr. Allen!
