| - We chose the Parador because it seemed to offer character within walking distance of the subway. We were not disappointed! The property really looks like a museum from Pittsburgh's guilded age, and staying there adds such a great dimension to the overall experience of visiting this most underrated city. We stayed in the Birds of Paradise room, where we had a great night of sleep (no road noise) in a beautiful atmosphere. Breakfast was also great, with French Toast made out of a bread with a caramel bottom standing out. The staff was also great. Dee, the cleaning lady, showed us others rooms, and was clearly (and justifiably) proud of the place. Location is also great, as the river front, museums, and stadiums are nearby, as is the subway (less than 10 minute walk, and provides free fare into downtown). After hours check-in was a breeze. We had an amazing time staying at the Parador and visiting Pittsburgh, so we look forward to coming back to our regional home base!
