  • La Gourmandine is one of the best bakeries to serve Pittsburgh. With wonderful breads, delicious French pastries and fresh brewed coffee, this is a one stop shop for a Sunday morning or any other time. This bakery/cafe in Hazelwood is newly opened and is the third in Pittsburgh. The other two have developed strong followings as they offer a Parisian flavor and impeccable quality. I am certain this will be the same and reserve the opportunity to add another star to the review in the future. This is quite a coup for the Hazelwood neighborhood and hopefully a harbinger of continued community development. It is also quite convenient for Greenfield and other neighboring communities. They have a nice eat in cafe with good coffee to go along with their delicacies. I can imagine using them for takeout breads and desserts for meals, parties and the like. They have serendipitously opened just before Easter so a trip for some Easter breakfast fare will be possible. Try the eclairs, they are to die for!
