This is my happy place. I didn't want to fall in love with Pike Nurseries because it is a chain but once you step inside it doesn't have that corporate feel at all. This is a beautiful location with an abundance of indoor & outdoor options. Quite an oasis in the city and my favorite place to stop in on a Sunday morning. I gravitate towards the indoor plants because I rent my apartment and can't commit to planting outdoors.
The employees always go out of their way to help me find something specific or just chat with me about random plants that just came in. They are always extremely knowledgable and I walk away feeling confident that I have the tools to care for my new plant baby. Once I was looking for a string of pearly plant and the manager took my information and called me once she got them in.
Depending on the time of year and type of plant gardening can get expensive but in my opinion Pike Nurseries isn't horribly overpriced. I paid $10 for my large string of oblong pearls plant and the succulent prices are on par with what you would find at home depot. $3 for each small donkey tail. The only difference is that Pike Nurseries would never spray paint a succulent or glue flowers on a cactus.
