| - I have been going to Starkman Surgical Supply for over 15 years, and the customer service declines with each visit.
As a Healthcare practitioner, I have spent easily a couple of thousand dollars there, as well as regularly referring clients to them.
Never again!
I went in last week to purchase a few items for a family member that had just recovered from surgery, and needed a pillow, a bath bar and bath board. The employee that reluctantly assisted me, spoke to me impatiently, as if i were inconveniencing her. I went through my list of items, and before i made my purchase, i confirmed that if these items were not exact or correct, "Can I refund these items?" I was told that I had 3 days. I explained that the person I am purchasing for lives in the East end and I need at least a week.
Before I left, I told the manager/Owner that I thought the clerk was rude and impatient. He didn't apologize, or reassure me that he will follow up.
When she returned to the counter, the manager began chatting with her about the weather!
One week passes, and I must return 2 of the 3 items purchased, because they are the wrong size. Bath board was refunded, but they would not take the pillow back, even though it was unopened, still sealed in it's original package!
The same lovely clerk told me that the owner does not take pillows back due to the body making contact with it and contaminating it.
I get that, but on an unopened plastic sealed pillow? Come on!
The Manager began yelling at me saying he remembered me from last week, and that i was rude, and he began pointing his finger in my face!
He then turned around and gave another customer a product for free. Proving a point, loud and clear.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a pacifist, non-confrontational, and that it takes a lot for me to get upset. Well, I was truly upset at the horrible way I was treated!
I will never tell my clients, friends or family to shop there, ever again.
I did speak with Mr. Starkman, after I made a formal complaint to the BBB. I was refunded in full.
