| - Even though we passed by this place a lot since arriving in Toronto, we'd sort of dismissed it thinking it was probably a bad-beer sports bar. We stuck our heads in once and the Blue Jays color commentary was so loud, we swiveled on out without even having a look around. We finally got a true taste of Bronco's when we went to one of the puzzle-rooms nearby with a pretty big birthday group. Bronco's was the closest place for a drink afterward, and easy to accommodate 11 people.
First off, the service was terrific for 11 people -- fun, friendly, and patient, with lots of helpful info and recommendations (about sliders), asking each person what their order was, and their name for ease of delivery later.
I was surprised that decent tap and can craft beers were so reasonably priced - undercutting most of the bars around here by a dollar or two. And they have a lot of kinds. Was happy to find Great Lakes on the rotating tap. Cost on these is a serious reward for heading a few blocks away from Queen and Ossington. Beers were nice and cold, in chilled glasses.
We tried a couple of sliders -- these are pretty tasty. I wish they were a touch cheaper, because 2 doesn't seem enough for a meal if you're hungry, and I don't think $15 is the right price for 3 of these. But they are good for a snack.
I'm looking forward to having some beers here on the patio when it gets warm. Feeling stupid not to have been doing this last fall!
