I've been to House of Tricks many times, each time is better than the last.
House of Tricks is unlike any restaurant in Tempe, the tree coverage and the patio provides an awesome natural ambiance.
My father was in town and really wanted to come back here, the last time I took him here was three years ago. We sat on the patio, it was still 110 degrees outside but it was still cool somehow.
We started with the mussels and the poke. Both were phenomenal, the mussels with the chorizo may be one of my favorite dishes from any restaurant I've ever been to. I definitely recommend this dish to anyone.
For our entree we both got the sea bass, which was perfect. The sea bass was light and soft and cooked perfectly. The black beans, squash, tomatoes and avocado were a great compliment to the fish. This is one of my favorite sea bass dishes ever. Add the bottle of Malbec we were sipping on and it was a great meal.
I truly believe House of Tricks is the best restaurant in Tempe, by a mile.
