Bouchon in Yountville, CA is essentially my version of Mecca. I would rather eat there than next door at sister restaurant (and sort of certified Mecca for all foodies), French Laundry. I am biased though, as I believe French bistro is the ultimate, but whatever.
Classic salads. Steak frites made with the PERFECT hangar steak. French fries that COVER your plate. Bearnaise made exactly as it should be. Profitorole that rival those I have had in Paris. I don't know what else is on the menu and I don't care.
When I lived in Napa, we went to Bouchon about once a month. Once time, I ate so much I thought I had to go the ER, but I was filled with the bliss that only perfect food could empart. I am not lying when I say "perfect." When we moved back to Vegas and Bouchon came to the Venetian, I think I did cry. Same deal, bigger location.
