Called Roadrunner pharmacy to get information about a medication for our dog because our previous compounding pharmacy had closed. I am a new customer and simply asked for the price of the medication. The rep on the other end told me that they needed a prescription from our vet before they would quote me a price. I would have to pay for a visit to my vet in order to have them send the Rx, only THEN would Roadrunner reveal the price to me. When I mentioned to the the rep that if the price is not acceptable to me then I have to call and have them transfer the Rx again, she could not care less and kept saying, "it's our policy...." Poor customer service.
When a company starts spouting "policy" my immediate reaction is to take my business elsewhere; which is exactly what I did. Called another pharmacy (Stokes in NJ), who was very professional, quoted the prices and could mail my dog's Rx to us so we would receive it within two days.
