  • Adult Activity supply stores, as I have experienced them, fall into 3 categories: Dirty, dark places that have a few magazines and DVDs, video booths and cinema spaces...clean places with a large variety of inventory for men and women, which may or may not have video booths, and glitzy locations with a decent inventory and aggressive clerks that steer you toward the most expensive options. Price-wise, the comparison to Food City and AJ's that someone offered is pretty good. I would also add in that there is a third price level, the lower end, which would be the liquor store and quickie mart located in the red zone on Van Buren. Castle Megastore falls in the second category. On arriving about 1 PM, there were several cars in the parking lot. When I pulled the door open, the clerk caught my eye and said "Hello." I replied and cast my view about the store. Clothing opportunities, toys, DVDs and magazines available in abundance. I came in search of a DVD title from a few years ago, which was highly recommended to me. As I walked toward the DVDs, the clerk advised if I needed help, just let her know. I like a shopping experience (hardware/department store/buying a car) where the salesperson is not hovering over you...but has made you aware they are there to assist if you need assistance. The mix of patrons was interesting. A couple of "ladies who lunch" were perusing what appeared to be bathing suits...several "working girls" were there to stock up on their preferred condoms and lube...two couples were looking at various toys and two men were perusing magazines and DVDs. I found what I was looking for without having to ask the clerk. Clean, not skanky, decent prices...absolutely! Better signage as to where one can look to find what they are looking for...please consider it.
