| - Sitting at the polar opposite end of the club quality spectrum from Hakkasan and Marquee, we have Omnia.
Now look, all the things about ultra clubs that you hear about are true here. There are long lines, insulting cover charges for men, and the cocktails are so watered down that they might as well be considered non-alcoholic (seriously, stick to beer). Where Omnia succeeds is at streamlining the kinks that the other clubs have and also all their staff is REALLY REALLY NICE.
Sounds nuts, right?
The guy checking IDs didn't look me up and down like he just saw me on a wanted billboard. The security guard who helped direct foot traffic smiled and answered a few of my questions. The bartenders were very quick and really astute when it came to serving people in the order they approached.
The other thing that's interesting about Omnia is that they control the girl/guy ratio with a ladies only entry line. While ridiculous, it is far less ridiculous than the "come with girls or don't come at all" vibe that other clubs seem to give to dudes.
Once inside, the place is extraordinary. The high ceiling, elaborate light show, and general creativity in wall design make it a spectacle to look at. There are 3 different areas - the main club, the terrace (with a very nice view), and Heart. Heart is off to the side, tends to be a little more chill, and is great. Heart plays more hip hop than the main room and for some reason seemed to be entirely stocked with girls.
For the single, straight dudes reading this - Omnia had the most attractive female clientele of all the clubs I've ever visited in my life. A lot of them are in bachelorette parties or having girls weekends and will have nothing to do with you, but from an objective assessment they still are stunning.
