  • I needed to rent a carpet cleaner to get the place cleaned up before some family came into town. I thought I'd patronize small local business and avoid the "big box" stores. I chose the Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine. The price was great, $24 for 24hr with a refundable $24 deposit. . I made it through one tank of water before the machine stopped working. We called the store and were told that we could exchange it for another one and they would throw in an extra 24hrs for the inconvenience. No problem, that's a chance you take with rental equipment. We quickly exchanged it and headed back to finish the job. . When pulling the machine out of the bed of my truck we noticed some liquid still in the return tank. As I opened it to check the contents I wasn't even sure what I was looking at. Was it...a dead cat, a squirrel, someone's weave??? Whatever it was is was one of the most foul, disgusting and rancid things I've ever had the displeasure of seeing. It's a good thing I have a strong stomach. . We immediately returned to the store for a second time. As the manager approached I opened the tank for her to see. Being indoors with no ventilation the scent of monstrosity in the tank was overwhelming! We were immediately given a full refund and high-tailed it out of there and headed to the "big box" store down the street. . We had to pay a few more bucks but we were given a clean machine in good working order. . .
