  • I will echo the previous reviewer in that the only saving grace is the front office staff. They are all lovely. That being said, our only real requirement as a professional working couple when moving in was that the property was quiet, which we were assured it was. After touring a similar apartment to ours, we signed the lease. Big mistake. Not only did our apartment not look and feel like the one we toured, but in my cumulative 15 years of renting in the metro area, this is by far the loudest, unruly property I've ever lived in. Teenagers jumping on cars and off the trash receptacles; screaming unsupervised gaggles of children in the public courtyard which runs between several apartments well after dark; bass thumping continuously; parties starting at 10:30pm on weeknights; the constant smell of weed in the air. And the worst part is the walls are PAPER-thin so there is no escaping it. My cubicle at work affords more privacy and sadly that is not an exaggeration. Additionally the apartments have such squeaky floors that the loud popping sounds carry from one apartment to the others that I've honestly thought someone was inside my apartment on more than one occasion. In the 7 weeks we've lived here, we've had to make 7 noise complaints- most of them through their off site security after hours around 10-11pm but as late as 1am. After speaking with the front staff after the 2nd incident (in the same week), they said if it continued it would be escalated to their management and to continue doing what we were doing and just reporting when it happened. After the 5th incident, we went to speak with a different gal in the front office. She had to search around to find the previous 2 reports and was shocked to see how many had been made with no follow up. We were surprised that they didn't know about this and were a bit disheartened that this wasn't throwing a red flag. (Again, the front staff girls are great-the ONLY thing good about this place) After they placed a call to their corporate office to see what could be done, our options were to be transferred to another apartment, however we'd have to start our lease over and pay $100 extra a month, which wasn't budgeted since we're just here until our home is renovated. She did everything she could to help, but was bound by corporate rules, despite the frequent and lengthy amount of time we had been dealing with this issue. We have bought noise machines & fans to help muffle the constant sounds. We started coming straight home from work to try and get some sleep as we knew we'd be woken up several times throughout the night. Tonight was the final straw as a car alarm went off for over an hour starting at 9:00 pm. Calls to the security said they could only report it to the office, so once again we're put in the reactive situation. We were finally forced to rent a hotel to get some sleep. The alarm was still blaring when we left at 10:30pm. My husband operates heavy machinery and has had to miss work more than once due to sleep deprivation being a safety issue. We've finally had it and can't continue to take the hit on our health, safety and ability to rest/work due to the unmanaged clients living at this property. Please do not waste your time here if youre expecting Ahwatukee quality apartment living. Save your money and go to Tempe- even next to the campus it's likely quieter as they will probably have proactive expectations in place that have been communicated- which appears to be sorely lacking here. Sure wish we would've gone that route. We can add ROACHES to the list as of today. Lots of them.
