After a long afternoon of performing 12 ounce curls at the neighboring Bulldog Beer and Wine shop, I felt the need for a sweet treat and decided to finally check this place out. Overall the experience was really enjoyable. The physical shop is a small one, but my wife and I enjoyed the outdoor space in their rocking chairs with our dog. Speaking of, we also really enjoyed that they offered treats for man's best friend! $1 scored us two treats of essentially ice cubes with frozen peanut butter in them. I give them props for making them into the shape of a paw print and a bone. The entertainment from the ensuing 10 minutes of frenzied licking and chewing by our dog was well worth the price.
I will say that I was a little disappointed in the flavor selection that day. I ended up going with chocolate and salted oreo scoops in a waffle cone, which were good. However, after reading reviews of others who have tried more adventurous flavors like local beer and liquor inspired flavors, I had expected a wider arrangement of flavors to be available. If anything, this will drive me to come back another time in an attempt to try and capture one of those flavors (and perhaps one of those ice cream sandwiches!). More experimentation to be done in the growing Charlotte scene of 'craft' ice cream.
