| - I have been a member of Aura Fitness almost since it opened. It was called Hard Candy back then. The membership price is good for a gym this size and at this downtown location. The gym is a massive, attractive, open air place with a workout field, workout machines, free weights, spin room, hot yoga studio, and a stretch room. The equipment is newish and in great shape, with plenty to choose from. There is a juice/shake bar for your drinking pleasure. The women's locker room area is clean and spacious with working showers and a sauna. I get to the gym at 7:45am after a 12 hour night shift and there are no exercise or spin classes then. So, I can't tell you about any of the classes. I also, can't tell you about any of the trainers, because I've been working out for over 30 years, and don't require a trainer. What I'll say is, I've noticed that they themselves aren't that fit, friendly, or that enthusiastic. My main point of contention about this gym is that the management does not enforce the removal of weights from the machines after use. Every gym rat knows they should put the weights back on the rack after they have used them, but at this gym there are some very douchebaggy men who will put several 35-45lb plates on a machine and then walk away when finished. I then show up in the morning and have to contend with removing them in order to use the equipment. I believe that management should make staff enforce the removal of the weights or do it themselves. This is the only gym I have been to (worldwide) where this constantly happens! A smaller point of contention is that Aura Fitness has no deal with the parking company in the building, so you'll pay anywhere from $12-20 to park every time you work out. That is unless you park your car in the areas surrounding the gym, pay less, and walk. For me, and for right now, the pro's outweigh the cons... so I'll keep going until something better makes me part with my money.
