| - My husband and I went here for restaurant week. The waiter was very nice and it seemed the owner and his family welcomed us. We sat outside, and it was perfect weather with the misters on. I was hoping we'd eat and get our food slower, to see the band perform longer and see the twinkle lights on, but I felt kind of rushed; it was their busiest weekend of the year though, so no complaints. :-) I totally understand!
My husband doesn't drink, so I tried both the white and red sangria. :-)
I loved the white- it was so good and not too sweet (I actually thought the red was too "berry-sweet", if that makes sense at all).
We received a three course meal with the special, and ordered:
- House Made Green Chile Cheeseburger Empenada with Yucatan BBQ Sauce: This was mine. I don't like cheeseburger, do I don't know why I ordered it, but it was still decent. It did taste reheated; this was the only thing I wasn't a fan of.
- New Zealand Green lip mussels with chile, blue cheese, and bacon: my husband is a seafood lover, and he loved this. I tried a bit of the bacon and it was good!
- Seafood Chile Relleno filled with Scallops, shrimp.and Mahi Mahi. topped with a lobster chile cream sauce: again, my husband is the seafood lover. He made me try the sauce which tasted like lobster bisque (BLECH for me, yum for him).
- Ancho and Chile Rubbed New York Strip Steak with a hot and sweet onion and pepper relish: this was my entree. It had great flavor, was a bit too cooked, but overall good.
- House made Key Lime Pie: this key lime pie was fantastic! Hubby and I both loved it.
- Captain Morgans Amaretto Banana Burrito: this is SOOOO Bad for you! but it's so good. Literally, it's what it sounds like: a delicous banana burrito dessert. The chocolate sauce was delicious.
We both had the cheesy mashed potatoes and the corn bread stuffing. That corn bread stuffing was awesome, and if I ever go back, I think I'll make it both of my sides!
Overall, great deal for Restaurant Week, esp. since it included two drinks. If I feel like Latin food and want to take a drive (Chandler), I'll definitely go again.
