| - Can anyone say "Dive Bar and local music venue?" Welcome to the 'Hood Theater!
As other have mentioned, while the building's exterior is the same as it ever was, the inside has been gutted down to a standing room only crowd. For a live music show, however, this isn't a huge loss.
The bar offers a number of both local brews and hard alcohol, so get your Jack and Coke on now and oh, but the way, they take plastic now too. Loss of character? Some might say, but it's a sign of the times and this is one area I am pleased to see some progress within.
Luckily the inside still has something of a lost-time nostalgia to it, with the Marquee sign out front and the general feel of the space inside- well worn and just a bit tattered.
This venue not only hosts plenty of live music, but you have to give them props for supporting the neighborhood and local artists with craft and art fairs, a local church on Sunday, and other community events that need a solid venue space with a stage. It's got character and heart y'all, and that wins out over new and shiny in my book every time.
