| - I stay here a couple times a year for work. They are in a pretty good location; 2 blocks off the strip and walking distance to "Ellis Island" local casino and restaurant that is great. Also High Roller is a block away and in that same area is a local shopping and restaurant area that will make you think you are not in LV, which is nice. Great place to go.
They have improved over the years and the people working are actually friendly and now act like they are glad you are there. In the past, we use to have to pay extra to check in early, not any more. They now offer complimentary internet, which is nice, at least in the room. I found the "Room" internet fine but the conference and open areas was so slow and poor it should not even be advertised as "free". It is basically useless.
Rooms are very spacious with a king size bed, desk area, couch and chair. They also have a kitchen table, small refrigerator, and a coffee maker in the kitchen area. However, they have NO microwave, utensils, dinnerware that you would expect if you are provided a great area for long term stay. So kitchen is really not very useful. Bathrooms have a tub and shower along with a hair dryer and heat lamps in the room. Showers have a small soap dish but no where to put your shampoo and stuff so kind of a pain. The TV is OK but not too big and the furniture is typical hotel type. Not a lot of channels but OK. Heat/AC is a wall unit.
Pool and workout room are both very nice. The food at Marilyn's is always good and breakfast is great. They have a typical casino and a new restaurant called the Pub, with 365 beers, draft (and bottles I think) and have great bar food. They have a really nice seating area outside of the bar/dance area where they have great bands. It is older crowds and performers are very good and lots of 50-60 music. It is one of those places where you can listen to great music, dance and still be able to hear yourself and carry on a conversation.
