| - I attended this high school from 2010-2013, first graduating class. It was okay, 0 sports while I attended. I ended up doing sports for a high school close to where i lived. Clubs weren't really clubs, they were more of a popularity contest and gossip sessions
When school or personal problems would arise i couldn't rely on my counselors let alone the Dean at the time. However the librarian, Mr. Mitchel was amazing! He was truly ever the only staff member that didn't play favorites.
Academics was ridiculous. On top of having regular math homework, some teacher (who left after the first year of wtca opened) introduced "accelerated math". Meaning more math hw... it was dumb. I felt dumb! I would sleep in multiple classes & not pay attention. I felt like I wasn't gonna get my diploma. Teachers who actually cared about you graduating would offer online services/workshops for us to do. Oh and majority of our assignments were online & through a silly system that would determine if it was plagiarized or not because of quotes, etc. that can't be helped. Some teachers were overtly passionate with their classes, others didn't give a fuck. One openly said this is just a paycheck which is pathetic and low.
Student life... Well like i said before, i had an issue with other classmates that involved verbal harassment. The Dean did absolutely NOTHING. I went to her office, with proof in tears. Nothing happened. Talked to my counselor, was very uninterested, she rolled her eyes at me. It sucks that I remember all this. Even when I had questions about universities, what were great options. Its like i was at the bottom of their priority list. I joined the US Military & received my degree online through AMU. No thanks to WTCA.
Cliques were a huge... kinda. The student council & key club were basically the main clubs. If you weren't in either or didn't have friends in those clubs, you would be considered a nobody in my opinion. It was a small school. I made the mistake of never leaving that god awful school.
My high school experience was complete shit. Should've stayed at VoTech.
