  • I have a 2008 Mustang: 8 years old with 60K miles; so no big surprise when the dealership told me I needed new tires and a brake job. The cost quoted by the dealership sounded high, so I shopped around. So glad I did! I found Superior Tire & Service because Tirerack.com (TR) listed them as a recommended installer. Then saw the great Yelp reviews, so I called. I found I could get my Pirelli tires directly from Superior Tire for $60 less per tire than the dealership, and $35 less per tire than through TR (factoring in shipping cost). Bonus: thanks to a Pirelli coupon I found via a link TR had, I'll get a rebate from Pirelli on the tires. I went in and ordered the tires (pre-pay required because they weren't in shop) and they were there the next morning. I had Superior Tire do the brakes too. Turns out I needed new rear rotors, but thanks to a coupon on Superior Tire's website, I was able to replace both the pads and the rotors for what the dealership wanted to charge me just for the pads. I also had the brake fluid changed ($50 less than the dealership quote). I'm pretty happy that by doing a little shopping around + looking for coupons/rebates, which are very common for auto parts and shops, I saved about 40% off the dealership quote by going to Superior Tire (and getting the Pirelli coupon on-line from TR). And hopefully I'm good for another 8 years. I took off one star because I didn't get a call when the tires came (as I had asked) and because of the wait time for the job. When I didn't get a call by noon, I called to check on the tires, and was told they were there. So I asked when a good time would be for me to come in. I was told "right now". I was there in less than 10 minutes, but then they didn't take my car in for 2 hours!! Then, when they realized I needed new rear rotors, they had to order them - another 30 minute wait for them to arrive. In the end I was there for 4 1/2 hours!! To his credit, Robert offered to give me a ride home and then pick me up later, but by then I had already invested 2 1/2 hours and didn't want to lose time on the back end if he couldn't come and get me right when the car was done.
