| - MAIDS WITHOUT A MOP - BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID
This review is long overdue. The worst cleaning service ever. I made the appointment, I explained I had just done a deep cleaning so there would be no need to move furniture, etc. I also clean my own stainless appliances, do not require linens to be changed, and do not want any artwork cleaned. My home is under 3000 sq. ft.
They sent a team of 4. I told them at the time of the appointment if there were 4 people, then an hour and a half would be fine - this would be $270. I know how long it takes to thoroughly clean this house. I have had cleaners in the past and I clean my own home thoroughly - a lot. One person can do it completely inside of 4 hours. It was clear that without seeing my house or taking into consideration all the items I didn't need them to clean, that they were unhappy with a 1.5 hr. cutoff. They advised that wouldn't be enough time, as they do HARDWOOD FLOORS BY HAND, crawling around, versus using a clean mop (yes, mops now have washable heads and don't require ringing by hand - it's not 1967, Maids). They eventually agreed to bring some sort of mop given the amount of hardwood space.
Nevertheless, they showed up WITHOUT A MOP. Four people doing ridiculous things like dusting for imaginary cobwebs and wiping down clean cabinets, asking if it's ok to stand (in their shoes) on your granite countertops. About an hour and 20 minutes in, the team leader told me the hour and a half was up. WHAT?????
They completely disregarded a good portion of the vacuuming, the dusting of shelves was barely done or not done at all in significant areas and I didn't see them using any product to dust whatsoever - just questionable rags. Jewelry was swept off a desk onto the floor, pictures (not formal artwork) were all left crooked and I could go on and on. The icing on the cake was that NO MOPPING was done at all - no time now to crawl around, right?
The owner of this company is exploiting their non-english speaking workers in an effort to run the clock. Can you blame them for wanting to chase imaginary cobwebs vs. getting on their hands and knees to mop the whole top floor of the house? No wonder they moved at the speed of a drunk slug.
I cut the check at team leader Nadia's demand and as soon as they left and I saw what a horrendous job was done, I called the manager. This woman's attitude and demeanor was the only thing worse than the cleaning. I explained the issues and she said they would come back and do what was not done. I was not comfortable with that for obvious reasons. In all her brilliance, she actually used the analogy that if I brought my car to a mechanic and it wasn't fixed, I would bring it back to be done right. Again, WHAT?????? Hey, dummy - here's the difference - I can CLEAN MY OWN HOME - I can't repair my OWN CAR. Duh.
When I refused to budge and asked for a refund of half the money (as half the house was cleaned this was fair) she yelled "FINE AND NEVER CALL HERE AGAIN!" (No worries there.) She then hung up before I could ask when I could expect the refund check. I called back, she refused to get on the phone. Terribly unprofessional, and disgusting behavior for a business owner or manager deserves a proper response: For the first time in my life - I stopped payment on a check and never heard a word again.
End of saga. STAY AWAY.
