I went to Honda West two times in the past 4 years, both times walking away empty handed. The first time, the sales rep was unenthusiastic and going through the motions. The Honda Fit was the new "it" car at the time and practically sold themselves, but that's no excuse for his snobby attitude.
The more recent visit (and my last) was very disappointing. I walk into the showroom and I'm swarmed by sales reps. I head toward the back to check out an SUV type. One was helping me but he pawned me off to another rep. I expressed interest in possibly a test drive (or at least sit in it to get the feel). He walked me outside to check out the H-RVs in the lot. He asked me for my driver's license so he could 1) make a copy for their records and 2) check out a key for the test drive. I was left outside for 10 minutes on a windy day when a third rep came out and asked if I was interested in a Honda. I stated that someone was already helping me and said that he had my license in a strained tone. Third rep asked who was helping me and I described his physical features. "Oh, he's helping another customer right now."
I was done. I marched back to the showroom to retrieve my license and GTFO of there. Second rep happened to open the door with my license in hand and stated "I NEED YOUR PHONE NUMBER". I took my license and bluntly answered, "NO" and walked back to my car to get out of there.
I will never give this dealership my business. Leaving me outside and holding my DL hostage while helping someone else is not customer service, it is just plain rude.
