Been wanting to try this place for awhile now, so finally did this morning. Must say first impressions are everything for a business including how their employees conduct themselves while providing customer service. Ambiance was great and inviting when we walked through the front entrance. There was not host or hostess attending the front door, but a customer who we saw walked in as we pulled in the parking lot. He was standing there patiently waiting with no acknowledgement from the moment he walked in, as we began to experience the same lack of service. I then walked back to the bar to get some service for seating for this gentlemen and our party as well only to be confronted by the rudest person in the establishment. She was rude all the way to sitting us and made it known to her fellow employees, my wife wanted to walk out and go somewhere else, but I decide to stay and ride it out and give them a chance. She made a lot of excuses and was rude even further when we requested a booth over a high top, this employee has a lack of situational awareness and forgot that this is solely a customer service driven industry. Businesses such as this on relies heavily on reviews and word of mouth such as this. She became a liability and not an asset to this business this morning, who obviously made the investment in her employment.
So part two of this review, our server was friendly and the food was delicious but a little on the cooler side. The food probably sat in the back for awhile before it came out at that temperature, which is usually the case for cooler food. So I am torn about this restaurant, which is too bad because the food tasty. I think that the management here is due for a staff meeting to tighten up the ship. The place was only half way to capacity to not have any of these device issues this morning.
There are plenty of great restaurants in this Central Phoenix area that truly nail it every time. Unfortunately this was not that day for The Daily
