  • When we arrived for a reservation we had made a couple months prior, there was a woman at the front desk who informed us the entire hotel was closed. Apparently, there were rotted floor boards in a third-floor room which someone had actually fallen through and gotten hurt. Obviously, we were never informed. To be fair, we booked through hotels.com and it was their responsibility to inform us. But, they acted like they had never been told about the situation in order to inform their customers. I can say that once we did tell hotels.com, the hotel was removed from the search listing within seconds. One way or the other, it was a bad situation and a hotel which would allow their floors to rot long enough that someone fell through is not a place I want to stay.
