  • The best part first. Loved our apartment layout. Had the Verona, 1 bed/1 bath upstairs. It had an open floor plan, lots of light and vaulted ceilings. Okay. Then there is the rest. Within weeks of moving in, my tires were slashed. That was nearly $600 in damage. Office didn't care, but whatever. There was supposed to be nightly security service...but I never saw them even once. Police were in the complex often, not every day, but noticeable. Neighbors were a bit loud at times, but nothing past 10pm. About two weeks after moving in they advised us that they were coming in to our apartment for an annual check of the smoke alarms and sprinklers. A month after this they came in to check our a/c and heating filters. This was aggravating having them in our apartment so soon after we had moved in. When we first moved in, the place was not very clean. There was gross crud between the stove and fridge. Their painters painted everywhere, including the counters and cabinets. There is a $300 'cleaning fee'...non-refundable...before moving in. Not sure what they cleaned, but I left the place cleaner than when we had moved in. In the 11 months living there, the ice maker stopped working, the garbage disposal leaked...badly...the dishwasher backed up and spilled all over the counters and onto the floor many times, and I went through countless bottles of Liquid Plumber in the bathtub from day one. Something minimal that was annoying was that there was no outgoing mail. You could not mail anything from your own apartment complex. The complex was always filled with trash. Mostly, this was due to lazy tenants who could not bother themselves with walking the ten feet to the garbage cans, but the daily maintenance crews should have cleaned this up. Besides the layout of the apartment, I would not live here again. Was so happy to leave. Rancho on the east side of the complex is not the greatest part of town, although just west of this location is pretty nice.
