I called Directv yesterday just to get rates. Was on the phone at least an hour. I specifically told the operator I did not want to order their service, but was calling to get rates. Next thing I know I'm getting two emails entitled "Order Confirmation" and giving me the rules and regulations, plus an installment date. I am livid at these tactics and plan to call the FCC. The reason I called Directv is because we have COX now and they just upped our rates based on our increasing the speed on our internet. They claimed it changed our promotional program (on our TV) and it was impossible to change now. So, our rate went up by $32.00. The person we spoke to when we changed our speed did not tell us that it would change and that it would cost us more. I'm sick of ALL of the cable companies and wonder why the FCC has not leveled charges against them for cheating the public the way it does. And the worst part is that they are ALL disreputable, thinking only of squeezing as much money as they can out of people who, for the most part, are having a hard time just putting food on the table. It's very frustrating knowing where to turn next in order to watch TV. Definitely not to Directv.
