  • AMC Theaters has created a real emotional spiral for me by creating this monstrosity. Had not been since the remodel and very likely will not go back. Here's why: *Utter effing chaos! *You immediately are met with a sea of people who don't know what on God's Green Earth they are doing. The new concept is very different from your average theatre. It's serve yourself and check out once you have collected your haul. I can only imagine that AMC grew tired of the endless sea of geeky unreliable teenagers and said "Screw it! They can get their own popcorn." Personally, I think have a few well placed ushers to corral the herds of mindless twit parents and their socially inept heathen children would at least offer some instruction to navigate the beast. *Don't offer special shortcut lines for the "Stubs Premiere" members if you aren't going to have someone constantly manning that station. It's a giant slap in the face for those of us that paid our membership dues. At a minimum, take someone off the regular register, thrown them on the member line and let them take non-members when there aren't actual members waiting. *There was literally not a supervisor in sight. I didn't need one necessarily.... But an adult that could give direction to the working kids, would have been helpful. I love that AMC is trying to compete with the newer, flashier theatres. But Momma always said if you can't do something well, don't do it at all. If you want an excellent AMC experience that delivers a red carpet feel, hit up the Dine-In theater in the Biltmore area. That location gets two thumbs up!
