We came into Manuel's the other day as we were too early for our doctor's appointment next door. We expressed to our server that we had some time constraints and literally only 18 minutes to eat so we wanted to order things that were ready to go as they were in a lunch rush. For some reason this was not enough time to get a dinner salad and tortilla soup to the table so we ended up having to get it to go.
The Pros:
My husband said that Manuel's had the best chips and salsa he had ever had and I agree.
They serve crushed ice in their Fountain drinks. why doesn't everybody have crushed ice? It is amazing, and clearly it's the little things that make me happy.
Kids eat free Wednesdays with the purchase of an adult entree.
The cons:
We had to throw out both our food. The salad was wilted, the tomatoes were clearly old as they were dried up around the edges. I have a feeling if it was served tableside it would have been covered in dressing to hide this but you can't fool me, I know old food when I see it. The tortilla strips on top should be packaged in a separate container because they were soggy from the old tomato. I'm not sure what the dressing was it smelled a little tart to be Ranch.
The tortilla soup.... we just didn't like the taste of this and I had made tortilla soup from scratch the night before so I'm surprised that little ol' me could do better.
Not just a little better. A lot better. This just tasted bad and the chicken was rubbery like the chicken you find in Campbell's soups.
Overall:
So when all is said and done, we would come back to try some of the authentic dishes without time constraints -mostly just so we could have those delicious chips and salsa again
but Manuel's please don't serve bad food, I don't like throwing it out. I also hate wasting money. It makes me cry inside.
So don't serve bad food, so I don't have to feel bad later about it. K?
