Hello folks! So I decided to try something different for lunch. Being vegan I decided to try out Whole Foods Market in Green Valley. So I walk into the place and start browsing and end up over at the pre-made Foods. It was nice to see that they had quite a few vegan choices. The lady behind the counter was very sweet and helpful and the place is super clean. I first saw this fake chicken curry and decided to give it a try. She gave me a little cup with a piece of it in it. I wasn't very enthused with it and decided against it. I let somebody else start their order as I continue to look around. I finally saw this concoction that had no sign in front of it. It looked like yams with cranberries. I thought well it's fall why not give it a try. I asked the young lady what it was and to my surprise it was butternut squash with sage and cranberries. I give it a taste and thank heavens I did. My taste buds were like I love you for putting that in your mouth. So I decided to get half a pound and it was only $2.50. I thought wow let's look at some more stuff. I then saw the empanadas that were just spinach filled and got two of those. I then found my way to the dolmas and picked up 8 of those. This is getting to be a pretty big lunch and it was only 11 bucks. I checked out and went to eat my food. First tried the Dolmas and would you know it they were pretty damn good. Nice lemon flavor to them and not too oily. I gave the empanadas to my friend as I noticed it had dairy in it. They seemed to like them. I of course saved the butternut squash for last. It was definitely a fall dish. in But it was so yummy. Nice sweet and savory with cinnamon and Sage. The Cranberries gave it a nice tart in the smoothness of the butternut squash was just awesome. Every bite was awesome. I ate it all by myself and shared none of it. At five bucks a pound it's a steal. Go get you some of this and you can have it as desert too. Way to go Whole Foods Market! My lunch was the bomb. Com!
