| - I've been seeing this unique ice cream on various social media platforms for quite some time now and have been dying to try it! I mean, look at it! My girlfriend and I were about to make our way to the new Henderson location until I glanced at the Yelp page and saw reviews that said wait times were two hours, even longer. Is this the line for ice cream or Space Mountain in the summertime? We quickly decided that we would take a detour and head to the Flamingo location.
We arrived and immediately got in line. There were a few parties ahead of us, so it gave us time to browse the menu. Rolled Ice Cream gives you the option to build-your-own creation or choose from the House Creation and Fruit Creation menu. I ordered the Birthday Cake Rolled Ice Cream from the House Creation menu. The ice cream tasted great and the real cake pieces mixed in gave it this weird yet awesome texture. I liked it a lot, but it was a bit messy to eat as the rolls crumbled while I attempted to get a scoop. It doesn't have the creamy consistency like traditional ice cream, which I guess is what also makes it unique.
I can see why the wait times can be outrageous at times, especially on the weekend, as each treat is made-to-order. This isn't the place to come if you have a large party. Everyone's order would be ready at different times and before you know it, half of your party is finished while the other half is still waiting.
I enjoyed my first experience at Rolled Ice Cream, but I couldn't see myself waiting any longer than 20 minutes for it. You truly pay for the experience and the concept of it all. The wow factor was definitely presented and I was surely amazed. If I ever find myself in the mood for ice cream, it isn't very likely that I'd drive across town for Rolled Ice Cream.
The staff was friendly, especially Randy who was personable and made our visit enjoyable!
