| - A small hole in the wall with interesting choices of smoothies.
I stopped for an impulse drink whilst hanging out with friends. The exterior is rundown, but colourful; or "rustic" if you want to put a positive spin on it. I ordered the "Julianna, Get Your Ass out of the Bed" which really hit the spot. Not too sweet, and very healthy. My only beef is that the flavours didn't seem to go together at all. It just seemed like a bunch of fruits and vegetables blended in a cup. I suppose that is the technical definition of a smoothie, but I expect a bit more from a place that specializes in drinks. My friend got the sweet potato smoothie which is definitely a winner! Romeo's needs more options like these. Prices listed below include tax. It's nice not to have to fumble with small change Also, when they have dome lids Romeo's will fill it right to the top (and I mean, well above the normal fill line - within a centimeter of the opening). For drinks alone, I would give Romeo's 3/5. However, they lost a star for their slow service and "rustic" architecture.
Service is functional at best. The two women operating the smoothie machines were not very efficient in filling orders and a line easily formed behind us. Had I not arrived before the mid-afternoon rush, I would have been easily frustrated by the mixers who chatted with each other in French whilst filling orders in between. However, if there is no line, the drinks are well worth it.
Prices: Small - $3.50, Medium - $4.50, Large - $5.50
