| - For a brewery to succeed in Charlotte, you have to do something different to differentiate yourself. As The Lady and I figured out on a rainy Saturday afternoon, it's still possible to be completely different in a sea of beer warehouses.
Located behind Crown Station and Deejai Thai... and Sherwin Williams (#adultlyfe), Divine Barrel will suffer from a parking problem, but luckily there's a dirt lot across the street that adds a ton of space. Maybe they'll start designating that or even pave it! The inside style reminds me of Suffolk Punch with hanging greenery. One of the first things that we saw were mini games on almost EVERY table. From miniature games that you've played like cornhole to games you might not have seen before, like Pucket (which she kicked my ass on. Multiple times. Ugh.)
As far as beers, ATTENTION: THEY DON'T DO FLIGHTS. However, they do 5, 10 and 20oz pours of every beer! I ordered The Repeater, a Peat-smoked Porter, and really enjoyed it! I also tried a taste of their foeder sour, which was really interesting as well. The bartenders were incredibly helpful and had lots of personality, and there's still lots more of unique (actually unique, not just Charlotte unique) brews to try. We'll DEFINITELY be back :)
