| - We loved this place. For being inside the Renaissance hotel, (not saying anything bad about the place- but definitely not a Vegas top favorite of hotels), we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and quality of the food and service.
There are a lot more pros than cons. Everything we ordered (bourbon creamed corn, asparagus, calamari/rock shrimp, crab cakes, porterhouse steak, Chilean sea bass, chocolate cake, and two cocktails) was delicious. Our server David was attentive and gave good recommendations. The restaurant itself is pretty nice with classy and clean decor. We highly recommend the crab cakes, calamari, and bourbon creamed corn. Although my sea bass was amazing. The portions were perfect.
For the cons... they aren't too bad at all but worth mentioning. The bread they serve in the beginning came our pretty hard and cold (reviewers stated theirs being hot and soft), our "calamari and rock shrimp" appetizer came with no shrimp, my boyfriends steak was pretty tough to eat towards the middle (but the rest of it was great), the restaurant itself is really cold (maybe just the time we went), and although they do have a full bar- there was no cocktail menu. I feel like most restaurants in Vegas (especially steakhouses) have a specialty drink menu. I wanted to order a carajillo but their espresso machine was broken- so I ordered a plain vodka soda.
The prices are very reasonable. We used a nice Groupon for this meal. We calculated the prices and our total for two entrees, two appetizers, two sides, two cocktails, and one dessert would've been about $175 before tax. Not bad at all
Still happy with this place overall... but the little things jus brought it down to 4 stars rather than 5.
