  • This was my 2nd time coming in for an oil change and my service advisor was Ernest Saldana. I told him that I want an oil change for my car and he suggests I do a tire rotation also. I said yes to the tire rotation because he said he would charge me $10, not bad. I've taken my dads car in for an oil change before and with the half off oil change his has always come out to about $33. Without Ernest telling me anything he decides to give me the most expensive oil change to my VW Beetle. My sister and boyfriend were standing there with me when I told Ernest about how I want an oil change done and they agree with me that he never brought up giving my car the high quality oil change. I took the shuttle home because of how long the wait was at the moment and I receive a missed call from the dealership. Didn't even leave a voicemail to let me know that my car was ready to be picked up. I had to call and see why I had a missed call from them when very easily whoever called me could've left a voicemail. So my dad and I drive to the dealership to get my car and my total for the oil change with the tire rotation was $99.80, that's with the half off oil change. I was completely surprised by that and the cashier lady told me that they gave me the expensive oil change when I never asked for that. I told her that nobody asked or suggested that I get that oil change. My dad even explained to her that his oil change never came out to that amount and that was crazy of them to not tell me that they were going to do that. I use to go to Firestone and the top quality oil change was never that expensive. All the cashier lady told me was, "I'm sorry Ernest should've communicated with you about that". Well he didn't. I was so upset that she took an extra $20 off so I only had to pay $70.79. Still expensive to me. I really liked Freeway Chevrolet. I bought my first car from here and I thought the half off oil change was great until this happened. If no one is going to communicate to me and simply give me suggestions about my car then I'm not coming back. Looking at the other reviews it looks like to me that others are disappointed about the lack of communication also. Oh and when I got my keys for my car the man that gave them to me didn't even tell me anything about my car or if there were any suggestions that the mechanic felt like I needed to pay attention to for my car. Every oil change that I've had someone has talked to me about how my car is and if they recommend any work being done. I know my tires are wearing down and I know someone could've at least brought that up to me and possibly given me a quote on new tires. But again lack of communication. I didn't feel great leaving the dealership so I won't be coming back.
