4.5 Stars for the dentist, office staff and wait time. The dental hygienist was very caring about her approach, asked lots of good questions about my dental history and gave some great suggestions on how I can take better care of my teeth.
My previous dentist moved states and so his clients were acquired by Plaza Dental. On my first visit, I was greeted by a friendly front staff, they verified my insurance card and I was called in within less than 10 minutes which I really appreciated since my appointment was in the middle of a workday. I was in and out of the office within 45 minutes and when I left I was told everything was good to go.
However a few days later I get a claim notice from my insurance. I called Plaza Dental to see what this was about. At first, I was told it was because I had been entered like a new patient (aka charged for x-rays) and then the receptionist reminded me that I had had a previous charge for dental work from my last dental appointment that would go against my yearly deductible. I admit I forgot about this and when I realized what the charge was I was more than okay paying for the claim.
The reason I took off a star is because the receptionist told me that they would go ahead and cover the charge this time since I was new. I contacted Delta Dental a week later and they have received nothing from my dentist. Being told the charge would be covered and then when it wasn't left me feeling frustrated with this visit. If the expectation hadn't been set that they would cover I might have felt differently.
