de Mello is one of the few true gems in Toronto.
I had the opportunity to talk to the chef, who makes batches of their yummy croissants each morning, and have a new found appreciation for the pasty! She explained that croissants are essentially fine layers of dough that are continuously rolled on to itself. At least, that's what I took from the conversation... she spoke with such exuberance, that I wasn't able to catch everything, haha!
Best believe that your de Mello croissant has a piece of that enthusiasm and passion. (100% sure that's the reason why they taste so delicious!)
