I love using the "Just for U" feature on the website. They send you specific discounts on items you buy regularly as well as the featured sale items for the week. You simply click on the items to add them to your digital cart before you check out and the discounts are applied at the register when you scan your membership card. So if you like to save on your groceries I highly recommend using their website to get those extra discounts on items you regularly buy. However, do not go to this location after 10 pm because the customer service department is closed and they have one particular cashier that hates his job. I have his name but won't share it. He's usually the only cashier available after 10 pm. It's my neighborhood store so unfortunately I have to go here late at night sometimes.
This particular cashier is always in a rush even though nobody else is in line. I clearly told him I wanted to use my membership card but he ignored me and swiped the store card he had in front of him. Are cashiers even supposed to swipe another membership card when someone does not have a membership? The first time it happened there was nobody behind us in line so I was able to have him refund all the groceries then re-scan everything using my personal membership card. He started pouting and begrudgingly refunded and started all over again. The difference between the first and second transaction was significant because all the "Just for U" discounts had been applied on the second transaction.
Tonight the exact same thing happened again. However, this time I was more adamant about telling him I WANT to use my own membership card to get the discounts and points applied to my gas rewards. It still didn't register in his mind until he swiped the store card again. I told him "Sir, I'd like to use my own membership card please." He said "Ok, what's your phone number?" I told him my number and he pretended to punch it in on the keypad. The transaction finished and I looked at my receipt. I did not get any of my "Just for U" discounts and the store card was the card that was used for my transaction. A line had built up behind me so I did not want to have him refund and re-scan all my groceries again so I left.
The cashier just seems to really hate his job. No customer service skills. Just a "hurry up and get it over with" attitude. I don't expect a lot. Just try to listen a little bit to small requests to get things done correctly.
