| - I have had my 2001 Corvette serviced here several times. When it came time for me to trade my car in, I checked out their website for another Corvette. Found the exact year, color and options I was looking for by some weird coincidence. Test drove the car and was pleased by its performance. Now comes the part I hate most in the car buying experience, talking numbers. My salesman, Gerd, was very nice and not pushy, which would have me exiting the dealership immediately, no matter how much I liked or wanted the car. When it came time to start pushing the paper across the table with my number and the dealerships number, it was not too bad. I wanted more for my trade in and they wanted more for their car. We sort of met in the middle and I was okay with the deal we struck.
Jaime Pena was the gentleman assisting me with my financing. Not pushy and very pleasant to deal with on a very busy Saturday afternoon. Signed the paperwork and out the door I went.
I got home, and reviewed the paperwork and was completely confused, even though Jaime explained everything as I was singing the docs. The out the door price we shook on was no where on the paper work and my out the door price was now was over $6000 different. I was very tired as I was signing the paperwork and was not paying too much attention to the numbers. I know, rookie mistake. So now I have the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday to stew over this situation.
I called the dealership on Monday morning. Was told Jaime would be in at noon and left a message. He called me and tried to explain the numbers on the paperwork. I simply was not understanding anything. Said I would come back to showroom and we go over the paperwork again. In the meantime my husband was chiming in saying I had been ripped off. Now I'm all up in arms and getting very upset. $6000 dollars is a pretty sizable chunk of change in my opinion.
I arrived at the dealership and asked to speak with the general manager. He saw me immediately. He saw I was upset and got his financing manager in his office to help. We started going over the paperwork. He explained all the numbers to me. We then went back to Jaime's office and we went over the numbers again so there were no questions about any of the calculations. I was confused and mistaken about the waranttees, that made up a lot of the dollar difference. We made adjustments and I was very happy with the results.
At no time was I made to feel stupid. These men took time to explain the numbers, twice.
I will have to admit that I entered the dealership on Monday afternoon with a bit of a nasty attitude. I was handled in a most professional way by all involved. I left there feeling a tad bit ashamed of my actions and attitude.
Would definately recommend this dealership as outstanding. Next time I purchase a car, get a good nights sleep prior to the visit and a snack or meal before I start the shopping process.
As far as the maintenance department, I have always been treated fairly. When they are busy, plain and simple, they will get to my issue as soon as they are able.
