| - I've been to this Mr Lube location a few times, and I would say they are decent. The first couple times I had fairly good experiences, and I definitely like the newspaper and coffee while I wait. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes, which isn't bad. The staff is friendly overall and they did fill up my windshield washer fluid since it was low, for which they didn't slap a fee on my bill and to be honest I was expecting something.
The only bad experience I had was the last time I visited, one of the employees told me I needed to change my serpentine belt because it was cracked and it could snap at any time, and he couldn't believe I was driving with the belt in that condition...... I hate fear tactics, and I thought I'd do some research before jumping to his $100 recommendation. I tend to believe most (but definitely not all) garages operate this way.
I should mention that I usually go to my own mechanic, Shab's Auto, but sometimes he is so backed up and I leave my oil changes till so late and weekends are the only time I can get one, so I decide to go to Mr Lube occasionally to get it done and over with, instead of letting another week go by.
To make a long story short, I spoke to my mechanic and also did some research of my own, and the belt could be replaced but was not essential and the fear tactics left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Would I return? I haven't been there since, but overall they are decent and I would definitely go back if I was in dire need of an oil change.
