| - Don't be ashamed to pony up to the counter at Peace, Love and Little Donuts and order yourself a half-dozen or dozen donuts to enjoy or share with a friend. These two-bite donuts are handmade on the spot while you order them and the helpful staff is available to provide recommendations if you cannot choose from the assortment of options available. The little donuts range from standard donut favorites including honey glazed, frosted and sprinkled to the much more refined donut selections such as blueberry cheesecake, caramel macchiato and crunchy banana.
We chose to split a half-dozen while there and chose a honey glazed, lemon, caramel macchiato, coffee cake, maple frosted and maple sugar. The staff takes the homemade donuts and dips them in the appropriate glaze or frosting and then adds the topping to the donuts. For donuts such as a Boston creme, the dollop of custard is instead atop the donut with the chocolate. The six little donuts we chose were indeed made with love and each bite was nothing short of amazing.
Though there was coffee and juice available, we did not partake as we had coffee from a nearby shop.
The line at Peace, Love and Little Donuts was quite full of other donut fans and the staff moved it along very well so there was not much of a wait before it was your turn to order.
I'd imagine Peace, Love and Little Donuts has quite a loyal customer base who return each weekend given the freshness, quality of flavors and helpful staff. Definitely a couple bites of donut love worth checking out when in Pittsburgh!
