  • Mac's has all the makings of a good neighborhood bar, except it falls short. If you read my previous review, I really detailed all the great things about Mac's. Unfortunately, the things I don't like are getting worse and outweighing the great things. THE UPDATED STORY The specialty drink menu is mostly gone. The bartender explained that it was more expensive to maintain the specialty drinks than were ordered. Fair enough, but that's one of the things I liked. The food menu has fewer selections. Their menu of home cooking was one of the things I liked. Although, I did try the fried zucchini and it was actually outstanding for fried zucchini. SERVICE EXPERIENCE But the real issue at Mac's is the UNBELIEVABLY LONG WAIT FOR EVERYTHING. I just can't understand why it consistently takes FOREVER to receive anything, especially food items. The waitress explained that they make each item to order and that there is little done in advance. But it still doesn't explain it. And I'm sick of trying to figure out why. I notice in the reviews that other people have been experiencing the same issues. CONCLUSION I still go there if I know I'm in absolutely zero rush and don't expect anything special to happen. It's disappointing to give a poor review, since it has such potential.
