  • Yes, it's the same company - Yellow Cab Pittsburgh, phone number 412-321-8100, which I called today. I needed a cab to pick me up from CMU's Mudge House. The lady asked for my first name and told me a cab will be there shortly. They didn't ask for my phone number - they picked it up from my caller ID. That was it. And yes, it's a 5-star review. The cab got there sooner than I managed to (~5 minutes), and EXACTLY when it was drawing to the curb, I got a phone call from an automated system announcing me that the cab was there and to press the number of minutes that I'd like the cab to wait. I ran to the taxi (a van) and a friendly gentleman with orange driving sunglasses (the special kind of sunglasses that enhances contrast) opened the door for me. We chatted about Pittsburgh and he told me various facts about the city, in a cool southern drawl. I asked how he knew so much and he said that he didn't have time for sitcoms but watched instead History Channel and Discovery. The ride cost $10.15 for about 3 miles and got me to my destination just in time. Perfect experience, perfect rating.
