Dr Donna Millers office terminated our care in the middle of my wife's third trimester. We're left scrambling to find a replacement.
We got a letter in the mail, citing no reason or explanation for canceling our working relationship. I suspect the reason was because we asked to reschedule 2 of our appointments. 1 due to a missed international flight. The 2nd to sort out her health insurance plan, which we got squared away with our insurance company months ago. I've left Dr. Millers office voice messages. Since getting the termination letter, their office won't answer my calls.
We enjoyed working with nurse Janis. It's a crushing feeling to be dropped last minute this way, and this far into her pregnancy. As a private business, I recognize they should be able to chose which patients they see. But neither of us had realized a pregnancy doctor could drop you just like that, during this critical time. Otherwise we'd have a backup.
Hopefully we'll find another doctors office to see us quickly. At which point, I'll be asking our lawyer if we have a case.
UPDATE: My wife managed to get through to the office manager, who told her they will not see her, and "the decision is final". Note the attached termination letter. Citing a 30 day health care window.
